'Living with Diabetes Day' - 13th November 2011
This year another successful 'Living with Diabetes Day' was held at the Hawthorns Football Stadium. Sandwell Diabetes Support Group congratulates everybody involved in this very successful event. Special thanks go to all the staff involved in planning and facilitating this event led by Janet Alexander-Hall of the West Midlands Regional Office of Diabetes UK and Ian Walker, the Sandwell Primary Care Trust's Commissioning and Development Manager for Diabetes.
Sharps Disposal News - Update
If you're a resident of Sandwell you can ask for collection of sharps bins by contacting the Sharps Collection Service at the Hospital Transport Department (0121 507 3869, option 5) and asking for clinical waste collection. They will then arrange collection but you will need to provide the first bin available on prescription from your GP. They will then leave you a replacement. You may request either a one-litre or a five-litre bin. You will need to contact them each time you need collection and replacement.
